    FAMILIA!!!
    Helloooo family and friends!

This is Elder Carns coming to you from the slums of Santiago!

Wow, what a week. Here are some highlights for you all

    • I am finishing up with my rabies shots, dang dogs. SO that’s good! I haven’t foamed at the mouth or anything, so God is good
    • We had an ASAITO!! haha that is a bbq,
with some investigators, they cooked us food! They are great! The problem is, one is atheist and the other is catholic. They are super great, and we have formed a good relationship, we taught them L1 and man it was powerful! They just need to ASK!! So simple, yet sooo hard for people to understand!! Just ASK!! Just do it! Yet we can’t force them to get a testimony! So, we are working with them! Luis and Miriam!
  • We baked bread with Hermano Pino! He is great! He was a bishop at one point, and well, not anymore. He is just incredible He is less active and trying to get married, but its taking a while. But he has his own bread shop, so he taught us how to do it and everything, it was sweet! He really opened up to us too!
  • The district is doing good. We got to do DIVS the other day with los pensamientos, I got to go back to my old ward and with mi hijito Elder Hendrix. It was so awesome, so cool to see how far he has progressed, that is so rewarding! He is like, a missionary now, full force and that’s so awesome to see! So, it was a great time! And to see the people, wow. I truly love them. I felt like a proud father to watch my kid and also all these people change and grow, I can’t even imagine how heavenly father feels about us! It was really cool to feel that!
That’s about it this week! I am sorry! Pray for us, we are just trying to search and find the people who really need this gospel! they are out there, it’s just a hunt!!

I LOVE THE ATONEMENT: I love being here. I love giving people hope, seeing people change their lives. I am soo grateful for this opportunity, and to have learned so much and to grow and change. I am just really blessed and thankful!

Go out and SERVE!! just do it! People need us. They need help. And it’s the most incredible thin to be an instrument in god’s hands.

I love you all!

12 PEOPLE!!!
Hello friends and family

Well what a weird week. This is going to be a short email because I am trying to send some pics!!

  • We had 14 people at church...well actually 12, 14 with two missionaries. It was a really rough week.
  • We went to the Centro to do our visas and all that! Which was so fun! We woke up a like 6 am and the office came and picked us up, so we were on divs with elder Allred, and so it was Maser, Allred, Kieffer and I, just the 4 buds, we all came together here! It was really dope
  • I TOTALLY took a funny carnet picture! it’s like our Chilean ID! Haha I am So excited for it!! It will come soon
  • We played soccer today, WOW, so freaking hot, but it felt really good to get out and play!
  • I am really learning about just helping one another. A lady in our ward, Lily Conmtreras, we had lunch with her one day and she is just so full of wisdom! She is the best! She really lifted us up when we are down. And I feel like that it, it’s part of being a Christian. To help others when they are down.
  • We are trying. We are doing our part. It’s really Gods time now. It’s up to him. I have really struggled with that my whole life, but we are doing all we can and in the end, we leave the rest to God, telling him, alright it’s your turn. We will keep pushing on but we are patiently waiting.
  • My comp is awesome. he really opened up to me the other day. He is struggling being here. And he is just an awesome comp. Honestly, I feel like part of being a missionary is also to help your comp. In some areas, maybe you are not there for the people, but the main reason is for your comp
  • Counting my blessings. I am SO blessed. SO grateful. I had a moment of that the other night reading my patriarchal blessing. I am so freaking blessed. Despite everything, just BLESSED
I love you all. Just trying to give it my all, and be happy! We all need to be a little more happy, dangit!! So I’m a gonna do that. You all should too! SMILE God is good. Life is beautiful

WHAT A WEEK Feb. 8, 2017

WHAT A WEEK!
Feb. 8, 2017
Hello familia!

So, this week, well it was good I guess! Here is a little run down shmum down

  • We had a conference with the son of Elder Packer, who died. It was good, not really anything special. But it was good to be reminded of things and to kind of go back to the basics! I just tried to focus on learning something new, heck every day we can always learn something new
  • This old guy at church always sits by me, and he is DOPE, so loving and loves hugs! He always gives me these packages of cookies, haha, his name is Jose de la Rosa! He is like my gramps here
  • We have a new ward mission leader! So, I thought about it, I haven’t had a ward mission leader like, for the most part of my mission. And if I have, they haven’t done anything or were inactive.- BUT, Hrmo Rojas, who was menos active (less active) and we have been helping, he now is our ward mission leader! SO loving, doesn’t know anything, but is willing to try! It was a really cool moment, to see their family progress and they all have callings!
  • YES, I am getting my shots, because of my dog bite. It is healing though, little by little! Freaking BEAR! now I have a fear of dogs, NEVER TRUST DOGS!!
  • We had a great pday today, we played soccer and had a asaito, which is a bbq, but better! Was great! Just love being active, I miss it
That’s about it! It’s hot, very hot. But a few days it’s been a little cooler, gracias a dios!

All is well here. Prayers porfavor for the ward, it is struggling. We are just trying to find new people, we are searching but man, the fish aren’t biting! But it will happén, just moving forward with faith every day!

I love this mission. It is the greatest, yet the hardest. It’s a love hate relationship, but I really am thankful for the opportunity to grow.

I love you allllll

I have RABIES! Jan. 25 & Feb. 1, 2017

Jan. 25, 2017
SHALOM FAMILIA
Hello family!! and friends (if I still have any))

How are you all?

This week, wow What a hot one.

Here it goes

  •  I have been studying my purpose as a missionary lately, and our vision as a missionary. And just trying to fulfill and give it my all. One thing I really love about the Gospel is that we are ALWAY learning, and how the scriptures always speak different to us and we can learn so many new things from them
  • We had 30 people at church, ROUGH! We are working so hard I feel like, and seeing no results, BUT Satan is just working really hard with our people right now, with our ward. And he WILL NOT win.
  • We will just keep swimming against this current!
  • I have been sick this week too, which has been really rough. It’s so hot and I have had a fever and congestion, its bee bad! BUT I am getting a little better which is good!
  • We had to stay inside for 3 hours yesterday due to smoke from all the fires that are happening there is SO much here in Santiago, you cannot even see the mountains or anywhere, nasty. But prayers for Chile, there are a ton of fires
  • So, this week has been a challenge, honestly as missionaries we try not to express all the bad stuff, we try to focus on the good stuff, but wow, SO hard! It felt like Satan was just going full force on us this week, with our people and just in general. We got water balloons thrown at us and nailed us from these ghetto kids with no respect, this lady we went to go buy completos to cheer us up (after walking for 7 hours straight with nothing) and this lady just BLEW up right as she saw us, and refused to talk to God about us! Ha-ha we didn’t even say a word, I just told her we wanted completos! But nope, she refused to even do that! (Completos are a giant hot dog/sausage served in a bun with a guacamole type sauce & tomatoes- Brad loves them!)
  • SO, it’s hard. BUT, we need to love these people. It makes me feel how Christ felt, when even his closest friend, denied him, or even turned him in, or even doubted his power. And in the end how they crucified him. These present suffering are nothing to what he went through.
  • We just press on, with faith, with happiness. Because Satan will not win. he cannot, its already planned. SO, Christ is our foundation. He is real. I love him. SO grateful for him
LOVE YOU ALL: SO MUCH!! GO OUT AND SHARE!!

I HAVE RABIES!!
Hello family and friends!

So, guess what, I don’t have rabies, BUT,

I GOT BIT BY A FREAKING DOG. YEP, it was like a bear!!

We were walking home at night and this crazy dog just was going in sane and it freaking BIT me, I couldn’t do anything but get away from it! It bit me on my thigh, so that fun!

Anyways, the medic here told me I don’t need to get shots, even though I have like two big holes and they were bleeding in my leg, and I was like uhhh no, I’m pretty sure I do.

SO, I went and got shots myself, and guess what, turns out you DO need to get shots, no matter what. SO, here’s to not getting rabies, and saving myself from a life full of rabies!!

**Mom note** He will have a series of 5 shots every few days***NOT what missionary moms want to hear!

Anyways, fun stuff, who would have thought!?

This week was good. We are trying starting over, finding new people! We had an investigator at church! Margarita! The only thing is that she believes all the churches are true, and she feels good in all of them! BUT that will change.

People just need to open their hearts. Ask. Just try. It is something so simple, but it has to just open your hearts. Let Heavenly Father in, let him speak to you through the holy ghost.

We did divs with los Penssamientos, so I got to go back to my old ward. It was really cool. It was a great thing to see, and people to see!

I have been thinking about all my efforts, how much I have tried, and I felt like they went nowhere sometimes. But going back and seeing all the people from my old ward, the people who I cried with, grew with, laughed with, it was a huge testimony to me that my efforts were not wasted, that many prayers of mine have been heard. It was a beautiful moment to see people who have changed, who are changing, and trying following Christ. That was a real privilege for me.

I needed it. So, God knows. He knows.

Life is good! It’s getting pretty hot here! Love you all sooo much!!!
